RMIT New Academic Street redevelopment

The New Academic Street project will transform the heart of the RMIT City campus creating laneways, gardens, student spaces and a better library. Key to the development is the strengthening the university’s connections and engagement with its surrounds around the northern parts of the CBD; an area itself experiencing a sustained level of development. Delegates will hear from members of the RMIT project team.

State Library of Victoria redevelopment

The State Library, which recently celebrated its 160th year, has embarked on a five-year redevelopment funded by a $55.4 million budget allocation from the Victorian Government and $28 million in philanthropic contributions. It is scheduled for completion by 2020. This significant redevelopment project will transform the Library so we can better meet the current and future needs of the community. Representatives from the State Library and Architectus will discuss the redevelopment, which will optimise sections of the building to open up an additional 1000m2 of space for public use, as well as developing programs and facilities that provide vital and improved economic, cultural and education opportunities for all.
