Built for the Bush: the green architecture of rural Australia

Kate CLARK

The ongoing challenge for heritage architecture organisations is to explain the continuing relevance and value of historic architecture and its social, architectural and environmental significance. As environmental imperatives are increasingly applied to the housing sector, the Built for the Bush exhibition seeks to establish the relevance and value of traditional rural architecture within the environmental debate. The exhibition aims to achieve a better appreciation of historic houses, both as places of private residence and of public display.
